Start your other Windows 10 computer that is syncing the desktop via OneDrive and wait 10-15 seconds. Tip: There’s one more step if you use Edge on multiple Windows 10 computers. This keeps the shortcut local to your PC.
At the top of the list, select “Always keep on this device”. Now right click on the Edge icon again. Select the Edge Icon (it’s the first one). Now right-click on the new icon and select Properties. After fruitless searching, I finally worked out how to fix this, the solution is below. If you use Microsoft One Drive to sync multiple computers, there can be a random issue where the Windows 10 Microsoft Edge short icon, either the Edge Shortcut Icon goes missing or just looks wrong. You could have gone to restore point when you woke up and saw your system strange with missing icons. still you could do a system restore point if you want before trying them. 
so if it doesn't help, it won't make it worse. I have tested sfc and get-appxpackage and it fixed what I messed yesterday when I deleted Edge folder and all. It's strange your icons disappeared but maybe these things can help. but it's not a bad error or something to panic about) (it might give an error with _cw5n1h2txyewy!App package, that's just because it can't access to it.
like if you open the start menu you can see some apps reinstalling like when you do it through the store. It will go through every appxmanifest on the list and reinstall it. You could also try to run this on powershell If there are error that sfc didn't fix you could try Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth which is explained here DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Windows 10 Forums
